- The Genius of Brittany attaches a shield, inscribed VIRTUS/ DUCIS/ ET/ MILIT to a palm; to the right Mars, in armor, attaches another, this inscribed VIRTUS/ NOBILIT./ ET/ POP.ARM; an armorial shield lies at the base of the tree / AD SANCTUM CASTUM / XI SEPT. / M.DCC.LVIII
