Descriptions
- Description
- Tapestry woven band of dark purple wool and undyed linen decorates a field of plain woven undyed linen. Delicate purple vine with heart-shaped (ivy) leaves. Thicker area of purple at one end of the vine indicates the end of the pattern. Self-bands are visible in the areas of plain woven linen.
- Commentary
- Perhaps a clavus (shoulder band). The amount of dark wool at the right suggests that may be the bottom edge of the tunic.
