580 Jade Finial on Bronze Handle
Translucent pale green and calcified buff jade plaque with a glossy surface. The symmetrically outlined plain plaque with a carefully finished transverse oval slot is mounted on a flattish bronze handle. The handle, which terminates in modeled animal masks, is overlaid with gold foil and encrusted with iron oxide. Portions of textile wrapping, impregnated with iron oxide, are preserved on the side of the handle. Han(?).
