- Description
- Oblong vessel in the shape of a miniature granary with circular opening at the top, domed shoulders, and sides tapering inward to a flat base elevated on three short cabriole legs; four evenly spaced pairs of notched bands raised in relief encircle the body; a row of small concentric circles impressed between the upper two bands; gray earthenware with incised and impressed decoration, lightly burnished surfaces.

(1) Earthenware granaries of virtually identical form excavated in 1987 from late Western Han to early Eastern Han period tombs at Tijiakou village, Anyang, Henan province. See Huaxia kaogu [Huaxia Archaeology] 1 (1993): 16-17, figs. 8.3 and 9.1-3.
