  • label: printed: 64 Cupid Holding a Brazier. Giulio Romano, Italian: 1492-1546. Full-length nude figure of the winged holding in his outstretched arms a flaming brazier. (Savage). Pen and sepia wash: 7 3/4 x 6 3/4 insches. Collection of the Earl of Warwick, Warwick Castle.
  • label: typed: Giulio Romano. / Giulio Romano was born at Rome in 1492. He was apprenticed to Raphael in early life and assisted him in the Vatican. / While Romano was in Rome, he painted mythical frescoes in the Villa Lanti, Villa Madama etc., and in 1524 Guilio went to Mantua and was in service / of Duke Federigo Gonzaga. Romano died at Mantua in 1546. / He exhibited pictures in Dresden, Florence, London, Naples, Paris, Rome and Vienna.
