A medieval courtier on horseback with two other riders behind him

Light lines and darker shading in graphite describe three riders on horseback in a landscape. At lower left, in three quarter profile, a young male in medieval court dress and a cap with tall feathers sits atop a horse. He looks at the viewer as the horse lifts one foreleg to step forward. Behind him, two similar riders look at each other. In the lower right quarter, a large rectangular space is left blank. Shaded masses in the background indicate trees and distant hills.
