Descriptions Description Convex lead object of unknown purpose (perhaps a weight or a finial of a staff), with a perforation of circular section (1.5 cm diameter) in its vertical axis. Commentary This is quite likely the "capocchia di piombo, servita forse per pomo di bastone" from the tomb at Poggio Sommavilla, Italy, whose contents Joseph Clark Hoppin acquired in Rome in 1897.
