Three women playing cards at a table while two men look on

In a dim brick-walled room, three fair skinned women sit wearing bonnets on their heads, and aprons over floor-length dresses. The woman at center leans on her elbow, looking down at the table with a sleepy expression. The woman at right holds a card in one hand, and with her left, places another card down. The woman at left leans forward, clutching a corner of the tablecloth and squinting at the woman across from her. A man sits by her side smiling at her, leaning his elbow on the table. Another man stands behind at center, looking on, while a third sleeps in a chair away from the table near a fireplace.
