The chess set has a felt board gray and white squares. On set of pieces has a light finish, the other is dark all of the pieces are set on flat square bases. The pawns are small cubes; the rooks are taller cubes; the knights are inverted L shapes; the bishops are pyramidal; the queens are long, round, and surmounted by a ball; and, the kings are square with a small square set at an angle on top.
