A Japanese man seated on a platform turns his torso left while sharply focusing his gaze to the left.

As the man unfolds one of his knees, he’s adjusting the outer black robe as if he’s about to stand up. A sword in a decorative sheath pokes out from front and back behind his outer robe. His head is wrapped in two headbands, his legs are bare, and he wears traditional Japanese sandals. At the top of the print a tree branch blooms with pink flowers, similar to cherry blossoms. The background is warm tones, with simple line drawing of undefined space.
