351 Narrow Disk with Pattern of Plastic Curls
Faintly translucent jade of olive-green color; traces of cinnabar adhere to the surface. Slightly elevated narrow rims at the outer and inner edges from the patter of spiral curls. The curls are arranged in rows intersecting at angles of 60 degrees. Their “tails,” running either concentrically or along radial axes, are reminiscent of the design of engraved spirals on disk No. 350, while the relatively wide curves of the spirals compare with those on disk No. 402. The spiral pattern appears to be earlier than that typified by No. 393. The date of this disk would accordingly be about the same as that of No. 402. Eastern Chou.
